Remarkably, sometimes people are inspired to give me gifts. I feel fortunate that my needs are met and my unrealized desires are few. Outside of my immediate nuclear family, gifts are never expected nor necessary, but are always welcome! Sometimes I do nice things for people, people who find money a crass way to thank someone for doing a kindness.
Things I always appreciate:
- Good Scotch whisky. Don't know your whiskies? Laphroiag and Lagavulin are all you need to know. Did you know I have ancestors from Islay? Aunt Jacqui tells me it is true.
- Experiences. Tickets to a play, gift certificates to good steak houses or seafood restaurants.
Unrealized Desires:
- A Raspberry Pi.
- A 14.5 gallon stainless conical fermenter. We can dream, right?
- I am slowly learning Python. A book might accelerate the learning process. Tech is one area where I find physical books preferable to the Kindle. It is still too hard to flip back and forth quickly in a reference book on the Kindle. I hear good things about The Quick Python Book
